Counseling Services
Each client is unique and not every conversation held during a session warrants the same response, which is why I use a variety of different clinical modalities to help you find your way. Rest assured, no matter which modality is used you will find that I genuinely care and effortlessly provide unconditional emotional support and compassion in a judgement-free environment. I serve adults and adolescents in individual, marriage, and family counseling either in-person or by telehealth.
Types of Therapy Modalities Used
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Focuses on identifying and changing negative thought patterns that lead to negative behaviors.
Behavioral Therapy
Focuses on changing learned behaviors through conditioning (reward, punishment, desensitization)
Psychodynamic Therapy
Explores unconscious processes and how past experiences affect current behavior.
Person-Centered Therapy
Emphasizes personal growth, free-will, and self-actualization through unconditional positive regard and empathy so that clients can realize their full potential in the present moment rather than the past. Clients lead the session with the therapist avoiding interpretation and heavy advisement so that clients can heal and find the answers they seek within themselves supported by the therapeutic environment.
Existential Therapy
Deals with issues of life’s meaning, choices, and responsibilities to help clients live authentically and find personal meaning.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Specialized form of CBT, effective at helping clients learn emotional regulation
Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Focuses on solutions and future goals rather than problems so that quick, practical solutions can be found.
Trauma-Informed Counseling
Centers therapy around the impact of trauma on a person’s life and coping mechanisms.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Incorporates mindfulness practices such as deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and grounding to manage stress, anxiety, depression, etc.
Reality Therapy
Focuses on present-day personal responsibility and choices to help clients meet their needs in responsible ways
