Primary Counselor. Conduct inpatient substance abuse groups, hold both individual and family therapy sessions, create treatment plans with patients and their families, complete psychosocial assessments on new admissions, participate in daily staff meetings and monthly peer reviews.

Cullman Area Mental Health Authority

Counselor. Complete initial assessments for both mental health (M/I) and substance abuse (S/A) programs; conduct outpatient S/A groups (including dual diagnosis groups); hold individual therapy sessions for both M/I and S/A clients; provide S/A case management services; correlate with local agencies including the Department of Human Resources, court referral, probation, city and county jails and local hospitals.

Physician Assistant. Authorize prescription refills, WAIS & WISC III administration (supervised), data entry, scheduling, daily chart preparation, switchboard operator back up, filing, insurance verification and prearrange hospital admissions.

Observe inpatient group therapy sessions, administer and score the WAIS, interview new admissions to discuss benefits of group therapy assignments.

Assisted mentally ill patients in the Vaughn School with their assignments such as math, English, and art.
